	Introduction :	Although one of the youngest apprentices at 19 years of age and with only 2 years riding in races, Jason Collett comes into this race with a great deal of experience. From nearly 1400 rides he has ridden just over 150 winners, including the Group 2 Bayleys Japan NZ Trophy and the Listed Southland Guineas (2009 & 2010), Dunedin Gold Cup, Tauranga Cup. He finished second in last seasons NZ Apprentice Jockeys title and seventh in the overall NZ Jockeys premiership.
