	Introduction :	Allen Ngai joined the then Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club in 1971 as a riding boy. During 1988 to 1992 he went abroad to expand his knowledge in the racing industry and during this time he worked at Sufford Downs, Boston, USA and at Newmarket and Epsom in England. He returned to Macau in 1992, initially as a riding boy and was later promoted to assistant trainer 1993. He was granted a trainer license by MJC in the 1994/1995 season.
