Introduction : |
Peter Leyshan has a long history in racing. He was champion apprentice in Australia and worked alongside the legendary trainer ‘TJ’ Smith. He moved to Hong Kong in the 1970s, to ride for the late George Moore as second jockey for one year. After that Leyshan rode for a number of Hong Kong trainers such as Chu Po Ming, Derek Cheng, Arthur Ward, Lawrie Fownes, Gordon Smyth and Geoff Lane. He decided to hang up his boots in 1994, but shortly after Leyshan decided to resume riding in Macau as the stable jockey for the late George Moore. Later, Leyshan changed careers and became an assistant trainer to the same stable. Following the late George Moore’s retirement in September 1996, Leyshan was granted a full trainer’s license in Macau. Click here to view P Leyshan’s training statistics.
